I do not believe in the "X-Factor" and most in the golfing world have now rejected it. The goal of the batter is to get the sweetspot of the bat on the ball with enough mass to get it over the fence. I believe the hands guide the bathead. With proper hands, arms shoulders the hip an leg rotation will follow. Others teach leg, hip rotaion and the shoulder, arms and hands will follow. <<<

Hi Mb

I would say the bat-head is guided by the trajectory of the swing plane, which is governed by the swing plane of the lead-arm.

I think of the hands in two separate ways. First, the forces each apply at the handle for THT and BHT. Secondly, the acceleration of the hands as a unit. – During initiation, the hands and arms are applying THT, however, the acceleration of the hands (as a unit) is generated from body rotation (legs, hip and shoulders) – not from the hands and arm extension.

I do not believe in the "X-Factor" either.
