Hi,

I've heard it as: "like a dog hitting the end of a leash."

You've seen it, the dog lunges, the leash stops it short and its back side pivots around the 'fixed' point of its collar.

Kind of a stretch to actually know how to apply that simile to the human body, but we've all seen instruction sessions where 'cues' and 'analogies' are used instead of demonstrations and clear communication.
