Re: attention: RQL

hey rql...when you played, on an outside pitch did you consciously try to hit the inside part of the ball?....now with your rotational mechanics, am i correct in assuming that on an outside pitch you try to hit the center, not the inside part of the ball?....and when you played, with your bottom arm having been the dominent arm, did you not find that you had any kind of advantage in getting both elevation in the upswing as well as distance of the ball hit?.....by the way, have you ever discussed with wade boggs the differences (if you or he thought there were any) in the mechanics of a bottom-arm-dominent hitter vs a top-hand-dominent hitter?.....thanks....
>>>GRC,I would say on the away pitch I was more concerned on not letting my barrel get ahead of my hands which did allow for inside of the ball hitting, and yes today I rotate to the back of the ball,I cannot say if I got more carry since much of mymechanics were flawed by forcing line drives up the middle, but as I said before when I turned on the ball like I should have been doing more often all my homers were hit and some carried near 450ft if that means anything to you.I have not discussed that idea with Wade but anticipate another hitting discussion soon and I will try to remember.
