I read your "THT and slotting the elbow" post. As someone who practiced linear mechanics as a hitter (and had absolutely no "pop" in my bat) and has taught linear mechanics as a coach, I have been learning a great deal about rotational mechanics in this forum (and through your video). It all makes so much sense that I am kicking myself for failing to realize the shortcomings of linear mechanics years ago. With respect to THT/slotting the elbow, I think we may be in a "chicken and egg" situation. Application of THT appears to lead to the slotting of the elbow (and vice versa). As a non-technical person, I cannot make a scientific judgement - I'll leave that to you (and others). From my personal experience (as an admittedly weak hitter), I am skeptical of the notion that elite hitters consciously pull back with their top hand fingers to create THT. However, elite hitters obviously do things that hitters like me are not able to do. Perhaps "conscious THT" is one of those things. I look forward to reading more posts here and learning more about rotational mechanics. Thanks.

>>> Jack - I see the acceleration of the bat toward the catcher in the Boone and Bonds clips and would be interested to read your comments on the mechanics that generate such movement. <<<
