He needs to understand what staying inside the ball means.
I mean there's nothing wrong with a pulled ball but, it should come as the result of the proper swing.Sound like perhaps his hands are getting away from his body some, and he's hooking it.
Again, most questions in here are normally answered in the same manner;"Rotational hitting mecahanics."
It's interesting because, my own son, who is only nine, is also a lefty. He hits well in BP, drills, etc.but, when he gets into a game and, he's an aggressive hitter, likes the ball away but, casts his hands away as well, which produces weakly hit ground balls to the left side of the infield, because of wrist roll.
