Torque and bat speed

Posted by: Phil Raevsky (praevsky@bresnan.net) on Tue Feb 22 19:20:24 2005

Torque is proportional to R X F where R is approx. the width of two fingers, and F is the force you can develop. I see where you can buy a bat speed radar gun. I know it goes against everything you have ever been taught, but has anyone attempted to measured the bat speed generated when the hands are separated by, say the width of one or two fingers? The results could be dramatic.
