great hitter...gone bad. Help!

My 11 year old son has always been a good batter. Last year he had the highest batting average on the team. He is left handed and small. But this season he has lost it. He can't touch the ball. I don't know that much about baseball to help him and can't pitch to him so he can practice. He can hit very well, when he is just playing in the yard with friends but on the field (practice or game) he can't touch it. The coach has given him a handful of problems to fix (pulling his head, starting to run early, shifting weight to front leg etc). He has had so much advice, I don't think he even knows the proper mechanics anymore. But I am not too sure he isn't choking or just trying too hard. He has a couple of power hitters on the team this year that knock it out of the park. Any advice on what to watch for or how he can practice or how to get what ever is in his head out! He was at the top of the batting line up and has been moved to the the bottom and he is getting more and more frustrated. He plays first base and if he strikes out he gets angry and it stays with him throughout the game, causing more mistakes when they take the field. If he can't get his batting mistakes out of his head, he may lose first base. Help.
