Re: wrong handed hitters

Hi Coach. It's funny since, my own son is right handed and, bats left.
I presented somewhat of the same question before.Ted Williams was right handed, JD Drew, Carl Yazstremski and, Shoeless Joe Jackson. All right handers that batted left.Ted Williams once said he woul;d have been a better hitter had he been a natural left hander because, his theory was that if the top hand were the dominant hand, the batter has an advantage because, the top hand is the hand closest to the point of contact. I personally don't look at Ted or, any of the above mentioned great hitters, as being "wrong handed " hitters.
What I think is says, is that both hands play a vital role in the swing, top and bottom.
I'm sure Jack can give you an answer more based on actual research.
As far as power? To me and, a lot of other folks out there, I think would agree, that it all comes down to exectuting the proper rotational swing mechanics.
