Re: one of my swing flaws

> I can't seem to keep my hands back when I stride forward. I see the ball coming and step, with my hands moving and elbow slotting before the front foot even touches. If I conciously try to keep my hands back I usually will land my front foot on it's heel but still seem to swing with one motion forward. Any ideas that could help me out

David,

How are you hitting? Are you hitting the ball hard? I think that toe touch is not a good reference point. IMO the pros don't think get the foot down and swing. They think swing, the swing is what gets the foot down. That is why the pros always seem to get the foot down at the right time.

The stride is the same but if it is a fast ball they get the foot down quicker and the weight shifts with the swing, if it is an off speed pitch the foot may not get down as quick and the weight stays on the back leg until the hands say go then the weight shift occurs.
