> My son is a 5th year little leaguer that has always been a "natural" at the game. However, as his little league years have passed.....he has tended to hit more and more balls to right field and right center. HE CAN'T PULL A BALL ANYMORE! No matter the speed of the pitcher....he always hits to right. His strike outs have also increased. From my viewpoint (never played the game) I can only assume he is late. He is sooooo vrustrated and I can't help. Is this likely a bat speed issue? What can I do to diagnose and correct this problem. PLEASE HELP!

Jim. At surface he would appear to be late to the ball. Here are a few basic suggestions.

1. Try an open stance where the back foot is closer to the plate than the front foot.

2. Have him stand deeper in the box.

3. Have him stride straight toward the pitcher.

4. Experiment with him choking up on the bat
