Position of back of left hand relative to the back of left forearm

Posted by: Jess (jgon75@comcast.net) on Sun May 1 14:28:26 2005

Hi Jack,

What should be the relative position of the back of the left hand (right handed batter) to the left forearm?

In golf, the back of the left hand should remain flush to the back of the left forearm. In baseball, there appears to be a very slight bend at the wrist towards the forearm so that the back of the left hand is not 100% flush with the left forearm. Am I looking at this right?

It would seem that whatever the position the back of the left hand is to the forearm, it would have to remain constant throughout the swing, otherwise results would be inconsistent as the bat would be moving off plane.

Thanks,
Jess
