Just a question for thought? How many extra base hits (doubles, triples, Homeruns) are hit by hitting the top of the ball? How many sac flies are hit, with a man on third, by hitting the top of the ball? Recall all the times you watch a game and say to yourself, "Why do the coaches preach swinging to hit the top of the ball when you need a sac fly?" YOu shouldn't want to swing the bat just to hit it, you swing to drive the ball for extra base hits. You tell me what pro player gets into the box and thinks just put the ball on the ground for a single (Except for when the situation calls for it). Not one, they all want to drive the ball!
