Re: Re: Re: Re: LIFTING WEIGHTS DURING SEASON

Right.. Lifting heavy during the season is a good idea. Just do it sensibly. As in work out the three core power movements. Squats, deadlifts and bench press. And not on the same day of the game. I would do 10 sets of each in combination with some ab and lower back work once a week. In the off season go harder!! This is what I do and Im one of the strongest players in the league. So how is working out directly related to hitting a ball further? This is my theory. I beleive that you can take contact swings and hit homeruns when you are stronger. The deep fly ball is all of a sudden an upper-deck shot. With good mechanics of course! And during the season after your heavy workouts you will feel great as in very relaxed due to the endorphin rush and elevated Humane Growth Hormone/testosterone levels. And when you are relaxed you don't tense up at the plate and waste energy. Remember the 100 meter sprinter and his relaxed face. That's when humans use their full strength, same thing at the plate. A little long I know, I hope this helps you and motivates you to train.
