> Hi, I am an 11 year old lefty in an league where the pitchers
usually throw 45-55 mph at an distance of 48 feet from the plate
to the rubber. My friend (who is an excellent singles hitter who is
on an travel team) is telling me to begin my stride when the
pitcher is releasing the ball and put my foot down and begin my
swing abot halfway from me to the pitcher. I just want to know
that if his advice is good andif not what is? Thanks

If you have a tendency to swing late it is a very good suggestion.
As you get quicker, you'll be able to make adjustments,
especially on the outside low pitches, breaking balls and
changeups.
