Hi JAC:

Actually, I did read the article.

However, just as there is a difference between reading material and agreeing with its contents, there is also a difference between saying and doing something. Ted Williams, for example, is quoted a number of times as saying that he pulled the ball a bit too much for his own liking; nevertheless, his career statistics and tendencies affirms the fact that he had a swing conducive to pulling every pitch.

I will clarify one point: I do not believe that coaches should force their hitting philosophy on anyone. This includes fathers. On the contrary, I am not suggesting that a child should not seek the opinion of a more informed person that can help one decide whether pulling every pitch is a good technique to employ given their stage of development. Ultimately, though, the player, and not the player and coach, should make the decision.

As far as little league fathers not liking my theory, this claim can be proven to be fallacious. In fact, earlier some parents posted questions about how to implement my policy to bolster their children's plate production. There was also a mention of an instructor that taught my style.

Lastly, neither you and I can prevent whether or not parents want to talk to their children about the PFO style, since it is up to them. Remember, we live in a free country. This means that one person cannot censor another person's opinion just because he or she believes that it will court disaster.

Once again, thanks for the prompt response.

Cheers!
BHL
