Bat Speed and Power

This is probably a dumb question but I'll ask it anyway. I've read on another web site that a 10 mph increase in bat speed will equate to about 50 to 60 feet in distance. Would this be true no matter the size/strength of the player swinging the bat? Another way of asking the question is does a ball hit well with an 80 mph swing travel the same distance for a 100 lb kid as it would with a 180 lb man. I am assuming of course that the bat speed is achieved at the same time in each case. It just seems logical to me that the size and strength of the person swinging the bat has to factor in somewhat.
