Hi Ralphie,

Some people say that the knocking knuckle grip helps prevent 'wrist binds' which translate into 'waves' in the swing plane. That grip can feel strange and may perhaps be worse than the box grip IF the batter has the handle back in the web (between thumb and index finger) of the top hand. I think that having the top hand grip the bat in line with the major two creases in the palm (fly rod grip) is more important - whichever knuckle alignment you use. The 'stacked fist double choke hold' certainly promotes a chop swing since the wrists are locked.
