back elbow & shrugg

Posted by: theshow (spspanse@uno.edu) on Mon May 30 20:01:40 2005

I am nineteen, college player and I am a big guy I guess 6'2 205lbs, and have always been a 3 or 4 whole hitter, but I have never hit homeruns. I have always hit the rotational way except for the fact that I never felt comfortable loading or shrugging, so I didnt. I have always swang from a stand still with my back elbow down and my weight evenly balanced from the get go, no rythm at all. People have always just said I was very unorthodox but had great hands because I hit over .400 in 5A competition in highschool etc. Anyways the point was that a buddy of mine got me to start loading my hands back about 3 inches, which I guess shrugged my shoulder and got me in a more powerfull pos. well I finally did it and wow I have more power than I would have ever imagined. Now I was wondering If picking my back elbow up and loaded from there if I would get even more power. Also what kind of grip does jack recommend, knuckles lined up, like Ive always been told, or otherwise? Thanks
