Re: not hitting sweet spot

Posted by: Coach M. () on Fri Jul 4 05:37:36 2008

I can understand what is being said. When the body goes first kids open up to early and the bat is the last thing through the hitting zone. I watch a lot of the pros and the use hands first. If the body leads most kids will never be able ot hit an inside pitch. Usually the ball hits off the handel and not the sweet spot because the kid can not see the ball once he has turned his body. We try to teach our kids head down on the ball and watch the bat hit the ball...The only way they are going to hit it that way is with the hands leading the way.....
