No. It is up to his as his hitting coach/Dad. Perhaps having him use a slight leg lift (Manny Ramirez) will help him get his mind of the foot to foot movement. Sometimes you have to trick the mind into being preoccupied until a more natural approach can be used.
(Nick Swisher of the White Sox was struggling big time because he had no trigger from which to start his swing. Once he started the toe tap backward before striding he became dangerous and has since recovered to start hitting again.)
