one or two handed follow-through

My son has a one handed follow-through at the end of his swing. I was wondering if it is worth the effort to change it to a two handed follow-through, I somewhat tried a and he didn't like it. I have heard people say there will be more power with a two handed follow-through, is it true and and are there other advantages of it?
