My son, a very expierienced 9 year old likes to "get in a rhythm" of short forward & back motion in his stance up until his inward turn, it seems to make him more comfortable and focused. Should I accept and try to reinforce this or train him out of it?

Dear all,
Rhythm is a part of timing, and can help quicken the bat by making the muscles faster by making them relaxed. However, beware of "excessive rocking"; although Lau deems it essential, I agree with Steve Ferroli, to a certain degree, that too much of it is wasted effort.
