dipping the bat

Hi, todey during BP my coach was telling me I was dipping my bat when I hit. I was hitting weak pop ups to the infield. I am thinking I was doing it beacuse my stride makes move up only a foot and in my stance my feet are afoot apart. I am Five feet tall (probably height has something to do with how big your stride should be.) So any info would help. Thanks
