Would a good way to develop this (once everything else is learned, CHP etc.) be to practice with your hands started in the launch position, then stride and cock the bat forward, and at toe touch, return the hans back to the launch where you started? My idea anyway, curious to know how you would suggest developing this tricky technique. Thanks. <<<

Hi Dougdinger

The purpose of PLT is to lessen the inertia of the bat during initiation by have it already accelerating as the swing is launched. Little is gained if the batter starts with the bat cocked forward but has it come to a stop (or near stop) at the launch position. It may help in a timing sense but if the bat comes to a pause, inertia returns to maximum.
