Hi GRC,
wouldn't the barrel be more above the hands in the lag position for the linear approach? I see the barrel slightly even with the hands in the rotational approach. I agree the hands with the linear hitter is farther forwards but the barrel is also higher. The rotational hitter has the barrel flatter and pointing to the catcher.
