muscle strength is most important in hitting home runs if it wasn;t then the ball players wouldn;t have taken roids.but more impotant is you coordination but being stronger allows you to control the bat better and swing a heavier bat.remember force=massxspeed.i did the calculations a long time ago you develop more force if you swing a heavy bat,swinging a 48 ounce bat like ruth at 80 mph(3800plus) will develop greater force then a 30 ounce bat at 100 mph(3000).but making contact swinging the bat slower is harder.mantle did strength training in his youth by working in the coal mines.just think if the parks were bigger say 400 done the lines 425 to the power alleys and 450 to center players only like mcgwire,ruth,mantle would hit home runs.the parks sizes never grew they've only shrunk.
