quickness is useful if you cannot swing the bat any other way and still hit the ball. I have coached it many times. Many kids are afraid of the ball so you have to get them in a position where they can watch it longer to make sure it will not hit them and they can still hit some. It works but they don't have top batspeed.

It just means they are inferior hitters to those that can time the
pitcher , get to the secondary stance dynamically, and get the barrel on the ball with maximum bat speed.

Quickness can and should be taught in many circumstances in order to win. Just don't offer it up in such a superior way and tell everybody that doesn't believe it that they are clueless .

I also think if kids learn proper upper body action that they will be just as quick and have a high level swing

even MLB hitters are better at that in HR derbies.
