I seem to recall that the reason he advocates such a level swing and lower finish is because he believes that the path of the pitch flattens out as it nears home plate. In other words, the pitch starts on it's downward trajectory, then (inexplicably) starts traveling horizontal to the ground as it nears the hitter. That's some physics I've never heard about...
