Here is an old double pendulum link I posted here a while ago.

This illustrates some of the primary forces involved in the "rotational"/flail/pendulum component of the swing.

Think about how the application of force with the top hand could assist in accelerating and controlling the timing of the trajectory.


How would this apply to affect hinge angle and acceleration ?
