How can gain a more powerful swing without having to uppercut the ball and switch my mechanics

Greetings Cedric,
I would advise you to print out and read the material on this site three or four times. Specifically, I am only 5'9", but weigh 201 LBS. It is true you can't grow, but you can always put on weight (luckily for me, I was always bulky).

Now, as far as the hitting is concerned, I went from barely able to hitting a softball 200 feet to blasting one 425 feet. Give yourself time, since it's probably not you, but your mechanics. But don't watch single hitters. Watch McGwire and Sosa, and see how they torque their legs (front leg turning up and away, back leg turning down and in) and apply torque and circular handpath to the bath. Give yourself a couple years. A little later, you may be disgusted with your "humdrum" 300 foot shoyts! Best of luck

Sincerely,
BHL
