Dipping/striding to 3rd

My 12 year old son has started to dip (hitting under the ball)and has even started to stride toward 3rd while hitting. I beleive in the rotational hitting and have taught my son the technique the best I can. It has helped as he has hit several balls in the 275-290 range, but recently started the dipping and striding toward 3rd. I had take some batting practice while standing on a long 2x4 piece of wood to try and correct the striding toward 3rd.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you
