Instead, it could be that you are swinging an instant to late. Many times you see major league players or people in the batting cage foul pitches straight back. Their timing is just a tad bit late, but everything else is in place.

But in addition to the above you might be taking your eye off the pitch location prematurely in an effort to see where you hit the ball. People do the same thing in the sport of bowling. Remember to keep your head down and or keep your eyes focused for as long as possible. Some hitters who practice this keep their eyes riveted even after the ball has traveled well into the outfield.
