You did say your son was 7, right? That would make him a 1st or 2nd grader? I can't imagine any bat is going to make a difference at this age. Also I'm not sure what league he's playing in, but I have never heard of a 7 or 8 year old using a senior league bat in a game. Little League and most youth leagues that I know of have rules about bat size and weight. I'd be more concerned about him working on his swing mechanics than wasting money on expensive bats. I once bought a $10 bat off of ebay & the kids were hitting bombs with it...the kids nicknamed it the "magic bat." It was a piece of junk compared to the name brand bats. At this age, it's all in the swing.
