Re: Working out

Can anyone tell me what the most important muscles are for bat speed and power? and those of you that work out what are your usual routines

I say the most important muscles in the swing are in your torso. Chest (pecs), back, abs, and shoulders as swell. I would also think that your wrists need to be very strong to apply torque. I follow a book called Complete Conditioning for Baseball. Pretty good, written the head coach from Arizona State University and trainer from Arizona D-Backs(at the time). I would lift weights on Monday, Wed. Fri. and during the season lift whenever I don't play a game on that day.
