Joe...you're confused, take a pill...I (Scott, not John) was questioning what situations a RH hitter will go up to the plate and try to hit a pitch on the outer half to LF or up the middle? (A lefthander will want to do this with a runner at 2nd and no outs)...maybe i don't know the game well enough to think of a situation where a righty would take the same approach? Help me out.

2nd...'offensive approach' is a loose term probably mixed up with 'swing thoughts', mixed up with 'offensive goals' and on and on...IMO, your offensive approach is based on the game situation, a hitters short term goal and the hitters ‘action plan’ for achieving the goal is in simple terms best described by trusting the practiced swing. and seeing it and hitting it.
