Re: dropping hands

As the student brings his hands back during his forward 'stride' (i.e., "walks away from his hands"), have the student lead back with his rear elbow so as to load the areas including the rear shoulder complex and the upper rear arm. This will help provide a 'connection' that will make it relatively easy to initiate the swing without dropping the hands.
