>>> Hi Jack,
I just have a short simple question about your product. I am very interested in buying it but I was wondering how does it teach me to swing the bat better?? I see there is a unique handle on it. I am not quite sure how it all works and I am very interested in purchasing it. Thanx for your time...

Hi Dave:

Thank you for your interest in the BatSpeed Rotational Bat Trainer. How hard a ball is hit is determined from the bat speed the batter develops with his swing. The swing mechanics of the best hitters rely equally on two principles to accelerate the bat-head around the swing plane. (1) Taking their hands in a circular hand path (CHP) that swings the bat-head – like swinging a ball around on the end of a string. (2) Torque – the push/pull action of the hands on the handle to rotate the bat-head.

One of the key reasons the average hitter does not generate great bat speed is because their mechanics do not take their hands in a path that swings the bat-head. Their mechanics take the hands in a straighter path that drives the knob forward but leaves the bat-head trailing behind the hands. Since the average batter attains little bat-head acceleration from the hand-path, they must rely mainly on torque (driving the top-hand past the bottom-hand) to bring the bat to contact.

To help batters attain greater bat speed by developing a CHP in the swing, we added a knob to a bat – similar to a steering-wheel knob. Swinging the bat with the knob eliminates them from applying torque. After a few attempts, they find that in order to get the bat-head to swing around, they must take their hands in a more circular path.

This helps the batter develop swing mechanics that take the hands in a CHP. Once the batter is able to generate 45 to 50 mph bat speed one can then start to learn the mechanics of how to add torque to the bat to maximize bat speed generation. – I demonstrate in the 20 Minute DVD that accompanies The Pathfinder, drills that help to develop these mechanics.

There is a Promo for our new Rotational Training Bat "The Pathfinder" on the Products Page. *Click on the Bat Trainer and it will take you to this Page, however, you must scroll down for this Promo and for the BatSpeed instructional video The Final Arc 2 as well.
