11 year old and mechanics

My 11 year old son(skinny, no bulk behind him) is a great contact hitter, but just can't seem to progress past line drives about a few feet past the infield. He is getting frustrated and I had similar problems in my day, so my teaching him might be hindering his progress since I did not pass this block myself. He was loading late, we seemed to have corrected that, the distance is not coming, he hit this distance a year ago.
Any suggestions?
