Re: wooden bat

I am considering buying a wooden bat to practice with. Does anyone know the cost of a typical wooden bat? Also, is it a good idea to practice with it and are you alllowed to use wooden bats in high school games?

If you're just looking for a wooden bat to practice with, go to K-Mart. They have bats from about 32-35 inches. Then duct-tape it up to about 1 foot from the end. This will help prevent the bat from breaking. Another thing you should do, especially if you didn't duct tape it, is to make sure that the logo is facing you when you hit. You want to hit the ball where the grain is straightest and strongest.
