Re: Rotational Clinic

I know that I'm not fashionable here and I happen to like Jack Mankin and a lot of what he teaches....but as a Father who had his son take 3yrs of "rotational" lessons from a certified instructor, please don't get caught up with names or labels. I know a lot of "rotational" hitters who were great in Little League where pitchers threw at one speed, with little control, but failed when they moved up to the big field. They had one swing, which worked on fastballs on the inside part of the plate and everything went to left field. I was fortunate to bump into an instructor who currently oversees the Pirates minor league program...he rebuilt my son's swing with an initial move to the ball and then rotation. My son learned how to keep his chest over the plate longer in order to hit outside and curves to right field. Consequently, he is a very difficult out. He can pull the inside pitch early in the count and can go to right field when he is behind in the count and faces curves and change ups. Do your research locally and find someone who has had success with hitters on the big field. Sorry for the rant here. Be carefull with people who like to throw labels around like "rotational" or "linear". Good luck.
