> My son is 11 and we have used your videos and drills but he seems to always be "out in front" of the ball and hits a lot of weak ground balls to third and short. He always makes contact and strikes out about once a year but is having trouble making solid contact for some reason. He seems to rotate to soon with the lower body and is unable to stay back on the ball. Any suggestions?

With the change in his swing. I am just guessing his swing has changed a lot by using Jack's video. With this change, your son has more time to view the ball path. But his timming is on the old swing. 1st what I would do is work in the cage. Set the tee up on the outside part of the plate just back of the lead foot. Have him work on driving that pitch to right field if he is a right handed. When he is driving line shots that way. I would go to short toss. This is a 20' or so. Work on nothing but outside pitches. Watch his feet. Dont let him step to the plate. when he made that adjustment to drive the ball the other way. I would work on pitches over the middle. With any change in the swing that can give the batter more time to view the pitch. The timming has to be adjusted. That can only come from practice.
