The kinetic link is one reason why scap loading is important. Energy moves from the hips, to the core, to the scaps, to the upper arms, to the forearms, to the wrists, to the hands, then to the fingers. The bigger muscles move the smaller muscles.

A second reason is a quick load/unload will produce elasticity and lead to the body whipping the bat more forcefully.

I have taught scap loading to hitters before and have gotten very good results relative to batspeed and power.
