>>> I just dicovered this problem in my swing. My shoulders are way too far ahead. I think it's becuase when I turn in (inward turn) I got my back knee already rotating around to the "L" position, making my hips rotate around toward the pitcher as I stride. What can I do to get rid of this problem? <<<

But it is difficult to give sound advice about someone's mechanics without actually seeing their swing. What a batter thinks he is doing is seldom what a video breakdown of his swing reveals. If you would send me a video of your swing (front and across the plate view) I will walk you through your swing frame by frame.

Jack,

I agree that the vedio should be from an accorss-the-plate view. But I have also found that the angle of the picture should be a little downward to show the feet in relationship to the plate. Batters may stride and pull their front foot away from the plate or toward the plate. Or they are too close or too far from the plate. These things are hard to see if the feet are not in the frame or if the angle is too flat to show the distance the feet are from the plateand. Any of these situations cause the batter make adjustments in their swing to compensate.

About Max's post, if he is striding and turning his hips at the same time he is making a mistake.

Joe A.
