Re: bat weight length

I am not familiar with the latest Voodoo model, however they were somewhat light feeling a few years ago. I never bought my son a lighter bat, the drop in weight of the bat may be a problem. As the bat size and weight go up his swing mechanics need to similar to chopping down a tree - then bat weight does not matter. When my son was 8 years old & 4'6" he used a 30" Demarini with great success. Review the Final Arc DVD and get your son ready to use any bat. My son was hitting wood at 4 years old which helped him learn to swing like a lumberjack. With young kids you only want to transition to a new bat during BP when they are hitting good - this worked for us every time he went up in length. Everyone always said I made him use too long and too heavy a bat. He has always been one of the best hitters and uses different weight bats in BP. The heavier bat - the better the swing mechanics need to be. If he is to be successful you should look at his hand path. I always told my son it ain't the bat.
