The cue "squishing the bug" is bad IMO. We all agree that we want to use the bigger muscles to initiate the swing. Focusing on the action of the back foot/heel will force a hitter to key on that area of his body. That is about as efficient as telling a hitter to swing with all hands. Focus on moving the big muscles correctly and everything else will straighten itself out! It is not about the position of the heel, it is about the movement that got it into that position.
