Body Style

I have a son who is turned 12 in late August. His body style is thick and powerful (Bret Boon'ish), and not extremely flexible. We watched Jack's video two Friday's ago and had a game the next day. My son said he dreamed about hitting all night. We have an indoor cage at our house and my son is an experienced and skilled hitter - he had never hit for power, however, even though he's quite strong, and I thought something had to be missing in my teachings and learnings with him. To make a long story short, he hit a home run in that first game, crushing the ball over the left field fence. The day after he hit an even longer home run over the centerfield fence. Those were the first two home runs he'd ever hit. I'm guessing that by focusing on his body/hand rotation he was better utilizing his leg strength. I'm excited to go into next year's baseball season and teach my team this "new" way to hit. I'm curious, however, to see if very many kids will show this dramatic of an improvement - my theory being that his lack of flexibility was a detriment using the more "conventional" style of hitting. I'd be curious to hear about other coaches experience with various body styles using Jack's methods of hitting.
