Help! starting from scratch with my 9 y/o

Posted by: Coach W () on Sun Aug 15 15:25:46 2010

I have coached baseball for 9 years, all at the high school or junior high level. My 9 year old son decided that he wants to switch from soccer to baseball this Fall. Well, I must admit that since he has played soccer, I have neglected to work with him on baseball (all aspects). This is my fault I know. Anyway, I have resigned all my coaching duties at my school, to focus of my son and whatever he decides to do. Would love some advice from those that work with younger kids, especially those just starting out. The kids I have worked with in the past had the basic mechanics down. All I had to do was tweek their swings. Now I am starting from scratch, and really don't know where to begin. Thanks for any advice and drills.
