teacher.

Hey Mike

These drills are good to do, but only if done correctly. If they are done incorrectly you
could actually injur yourself.

Whenever you're hitting off of the tee, nomatter what drill you are doing, try to get an area
that you can see the flight of the ball. For example if you are in a full length cage, hit the
ball the length of the cage rather than into the short end. This will help you to recognize
where your bat is making contact on the baseball.

Sometimes I will do a drill where I'll place a second tee at the other end of the cage with
another ball on it and try to hit my ball into the other on every swing. When doing this
though, keep your contact-point out in front of the plate to promote a shorter path to the
hitting zone. This drill will lead to better barrel-awarness and better bat-control. The art
of the tee is that the pitch is in the same location one swing after the next, it is a constant.
So if you are having trouble squarring that ball up, you know that it wasn't the location or
speed of the pitch, it was your swing.

Good luck, Jimmy
