positio of back elbow at heel touch

Hello jack, I am trying to figure out what the angle of the rear elbow should be at heel touch.I have a thirteen year old son who drops the elbow a little less than 45 degrees at heel touch is this a flaw if it is what could be done to correct it, I have had him do different things so that when his heel lands his rear elbow would be close to 90 degrees but nothing seems to work. thank you, please respond.
