Pitching Machines

I was wanting some feedback on using pitching machines? I have a 12 yr old daughter that is a very good hitter but is wanting more swing reps. As we all know, team practice is limited so we thought this might be good to use individually on our own time. I have pros & cons about using them. Some coaches love them, some refuse to use them. Are their any specific guidlines or drills that should be used or suggested? Thanks!
